Increasingly, the site plan approval process in many municipalities requires that tree preservation plans and arborist reports accompany more traditional documents, such as grading and servicing plans. Many municipalities have tree protection by-laws which require comprehensive tree protection measures and permit applications when trees are to be removed. UFI has extensive experience working with property owners, architects, builders and municipalities to develop and implement tree preservation plans to enable the retention of trees alongside construction and development. Our familiarity with municipal tree protection by-laws and guidelines ensures that arborist reports supporting tree preservation and removal are complete, accurate and acceptable, reducing the time and money spent between design and construction. Our experience is our strength when it comes to integrating the various stages of the design and planning process with regard to trees, from the initial site inventory to the submission of signed permit applications, and every step in between.
